Bloomberg's Mark Gurman Debuts Power On Podcast
Bloomberg announced the launch of Power On, a weekly podcast hosted by tech reporter Mark Gurman, according to Talking Biz News and coverage from MacRumors tied to the show’s first full episode on Oct. 1.
New episodes are set to drop every Thursday and will be available wherever podcasts are found, including on YouTube and Bloomberg.com/video, Talking Biz News reports. Gurman will focus on Apple news and releases while also tracking major consumer-tech developments from companies such as Samsung, Google, Amazon, and Meta, the outlet says.
In a statement quoted by Talking Biz News, Gurman, Bloomberg’s managing editor for global consumer technology and chief Apple correspondent, said the show will include insights on Apple and consumer devices that listeners will not get elsewhere and, alongside his articles and the Power On newsletter, will be the best place to get exclusive reporting first and directly from the source. He also flagged guests from the consumer-technology world and from within Bloomberg.
MacRumors, drawing on Gurman’s Oct. 1 podcast comments, reported that he believes Apple will introduce 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with touch-enabled OLED displays as early as October or November, and that a rumored smart-home hub he described as Apple’s “next big thing” is “just weeks away,” with an unveil window he has previously tied to mid-October. Those product timelines are attributed to Gurman’s on-air reporting, not independent confirmation by MacRumors.
For readers following audio launches on Podcast News, verified as of the Oct. 1 Talking Biz News announcement and MacRumors podcast recap: Power On is positioned as a Thursday weekly extending Gurman’s newsletter franchise; distribution includes major podcast platforms plus YouTube and Bloomberg video; no claim that Bloomberg disclosed episode counts, ad partners, or chart rankings in the launch notice.
