Lionsgate, LG Channels Launch Hunger Games–Saw–John Wick FAST
Lionsgate and LG Channels are rolling out Hunger Games, Saw, and John Wick FAST pop-ups plus new series channels in the U.S. and Canada, per Deadline and PR Newswire.
Lionsgate and LG Channels are launching free ad-supported streaming channels built around The Hunger Games, Saw, and John Wick in the U.S. and Canada, according to Deadline and an LG Electronics USA PR Newswire release dated Oct. 1.
PR Newswire lays out limited-time pop-up windows: The Hunger Games from Oct. 1–15 with all five existing films ahead of the Nov. 20 theatrical bow of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping; Saw from Oct. 16–Nov. 4 with eight films for Halloween season; and John Wick from Dec. 17–31 with all four chapters. Deadline notes it is the first time John Wick has launched on FAST and the first standalone Saw FAST channel.
Beyond the pop-ups, LG Channels is adding four new Lionsgate FAST channels—Pulse (medical dramas including Nurse Jackie and Saving Hope), a Ghosts single-series channel for the CBS comedy, Lionsgate Network with premium series and films, and a Rookie Blue single-series channel—Deadline and the LG release both report.
Matthew Durgin, vice president of Media Entertainment Services North America, said LG Channels is packaging fan-favorite movies as curated, limited-time viewing events around seasonal moments, from Saw for Halloween to John Wick for the holidays, according to both outlets. PR Newswire adds that a prior Hunger Games pop-up ranked among the service’s Top 10 channels during its first run, and that Lionsgate content already appears on LG Channels in 13 countries, with 13 Lionsgate channels in the U.S.
For readers tracking studio distribution on Studio, verified as of the Oct. 1 Deadline exclusive and LG PR Newswire: the FAST slate is U.S./Canada via LG Channels; pop-up windows and title counts are as stated above; Deadline separately notes Saw 11 in development and a fifth John Wick in the works—those are franchise-context notes, not claims that new theatrical chapters are already on the FAST feeds.
