Disney Entertainment and Netflix have struck an expansive nonexclusive licensing pact that will place a mix of library films and current-season series on Netflix for varying windows, Variety reported exclusively on Oct. 2, framing the deal as a way for Disney to monetize and promote titles while Netflix fills its catalog for more than 325 million subscribers.

Disney+ original Percy Jackson and the Olympians Seasons 1–2 arrive on Netflix globally beginning Oct. 4 for a three-month promotional window ahead of Season 3’s Disney+ premiere on Nov. 20, Variety writes. In a parallel three-month window starting the same day, all five 20th Century Studios Ice Age films land worldwide ahead of theatrical Ice Age: Boiling Point on Feb. 5, 2027.

Current 20th Television series are also in the package: Will Trent Seasons 1–4 hit Netflix globally Nov. 3 ahead of an early-2027 ABC Season 5; Shifting Gears Seasons 1–2 arrive Dec. 1 in the U.S. (internationally in January) ahead of ABC’s Season 3; and Tracker Seasons 1–3 go international on Netflix Feb. 26, 2027, while Season 4 premieres on CBS Oct. 4. Beginning in early 2027, select Walt Disney Animation and Pixar titles including Soul, Elio, and Raya and the Last Dragon will stream on Netflix globally on staggered regional dates.

Library series in the deal include Felicity (U.S. Netflix Oct. 7), plus Revenge, Army Wives, Fresh Off the Boat, and This Is Us (international outside the U.S.), joining existing Disney-owned licenses such as Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal. Variety stresses the pact is nonexclusive: titles already on Disney+ and Hulu, including Percy Jackson and the Ice Age films, remain available there.

For readers following studio streaming strategy on Studio, verified as of Oct. 2 Variety reporting: Disney licenses an eclectic slate to Netflix without pulling exclusivity from Disney+ / Hulu; Percy Jackson and Ice Age open Oct. 4 promo windows; Will Trent, Shifting Gears, Tracker, Felicity, and select animation titles follow on staggered dates into 2027.
