Amazon Ships Faster Fire TV Stick 4K, Alexa+ Hub Coming

Amazon began shipping a redesigned Fire TV Stick 4K on Wednesday priced at $59.99, pairing a faster streamer with a new remote and a forthcoming Alexa+ recommendation hub, Variety and The Verge reported.

The company says the stick powers up more quickly and launches apps more than 35% faster than competing products in its own tests, while a direct power cable lets the device draw power from a TV USB port instead of a separate wall adapter. Specs cited by The Verge include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and Bluetooth Low Energy on Amazons refreshed TV operating system.

A redesigned Fire TV Remote with more tactile, touch-findable buttons is available for pre-order as a standalone upgrade at $14.99, with shipping expected in late October. Amazon also outlined a Fire TV Remote Plus for early 2027 with aluminum housing, backlit keys, and a voice “find my remote cue. The stick lineup now centers on Fire TV Stick HD, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and Fire TV Cube, with the new 4K model replacing earlier Select and Plus variants.

Separately, Amazon is adding a dedicated Alexa+ hub on Fire TV that reasons across subscriptions, watch history, availability, and real-world context for more nuanced movie and show prompts. U.S. rollout begins in November on Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), Fire TV Cube, Amazon Ember TVs, and select partner sets, expanding to the new Stick 4K and more countries in early 2027. Initial hardware availability covers the U.S., Canada, Japan, Mexico, the U.K., Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand, with more markets later in October.
