Prahaar Drops ‘Tujh Mein Basi Meri Jaan’ Reuniting Ghoshal and Nigam
Prahaar dropped Tujh Mein Basi Meri Jaan, reuniting Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam on a Pritam romantic single ahead of its Oct. 16 release.
Makers of Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam have dropped the romantic single “Tujh Mein Basi Meri Jaan,” reuniting playback stars Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam. Bollywood Hungama reported the Oct. 9 release, and Cinema Express covered the track on Oct. 10 as the film heads toward theaters next week.
Composed by Pritam with Hindi lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Marathi lyrics by Ameya Dayal, the song is presented by T-Series and centers on finding a love that feels like home, both outlets reported. Hungama described the music video placing leads Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi amid wedding festivities, affectionate beats and playful exchanges. Cinema Express added that the clip moves from tender wedding rituals into soft domesticity and companion walks through Bombay, matching the film’s depiction of the pair as a married couple.
Ghoshal called the number “a beautiful celebration of love, companionship and those little moments that make a relationship special,” praising the chance to sing again with Nigam, Hungama reported. Nigam said the song celebrates love “in its simplest and most beautiful form” and hoped audiences would feel the same warmth the duo tried to capture. Cinema Express quoted condensed versions of both singers’ remarks and noted that Ghoshal’s softer tone sits against Nigam’s more rousing lines, helping the warm melody evolve.
The film, directed by Avinash Arun and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, dramatizes the career of special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam and the legal battles surrounding high-profile criminal cases, including the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks trial — a harder dramatic frame that makes the romantic single a deliberate soft counterpoint in the marketing mix. Hungama and Cinema Express both list the theatrical date as Oct. 16, 2026. Cinema Express added that the release clashes with Yami Gautam Dhar’s Nayyi Navelli.
For Hindi cinema audiences, the Ghoshal–Nigam pairing is the clear marketing hook: two veteran voices returning on a soft romantic cut inside a courtroom-adjacent biopic. Hungama said the video is exclusive to the T-Series YouTube channel, with the audio available on streaming platforms. Cinema Express framed the Marathi lyric section as giving the melody an earthy quality inside an otherwise Hindi romantic single, broadening the track’s regional texture without changing its love-song core.
The song’s timing is deliberate: with the film opening Oct. 16, the romantic cut gives theaters a softer pre-release hook while the biopic’s legal drama remains the core pitch. Hungama emphasized that seeing Rao and Gabbi’s chemistry in wedding moments “made the song even more special” for Ghoshal, while Nigam said their on-screen relationship “beautifully complements the emotion of the song.” Together with Pritam’s guest-composer credit and Bhattacharya’s lyrics, the single positions Prahaar as more than a courtroom chronicle — it is also selling intimacy and belonging before opening weekend.
