Ellison Names Combined Paramount–WBD Corporate Brand Skydance
David Ellison said the combined Paramount–Warner Bros. Discovery company will be named Skydance when the merger closes Oct. 6, per Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.

According to Variety, the company plans to move its Class B common stock from Nasdaq to the New York Stock Exchange on Oct. 6, change the ticker from PSKY to SKYD, and amend its certificate of incorporation to Skydance Corporation. Former Mattel chief Ynon Kreiz joins as co-CEO on Oct. 5.

CNBC’s same-day report adds that Ellison’s Skydance acquired Paramount in August 2025 before pursuing Warner Bros. Discovery in a roughly $110 billion enterprise deal. Ellison said the corporate name is meant to give the combined company its own identity without overshadowing Paramount, Warner Bros., or their franchises spanning Harry Potter, the DC Universe, Mission: Impossible, Top Gun, Game of Thrones, and Yellowstone.
