Kiara Advani, Sidharth Malhotra Are Expecting Their Second Child

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra are expecting their second child. The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post on Wednesday, Oct. 7, a little over a year after welcoming their daughter, Saraayah, The Indian Express and NDTV reported.

The caption was short and sweet. “Blessed once again with the greatest gift of all,” the post read. “Our hearts are so full of love and gratitude.” NDTV describes the photo as the family’s hands together, with Saraayah’s small hands holding a pair of tiny socks. The detail is a familiar one for fans: NDTV notes that a pair of tiny socks has appeared in the couple’s posts ever since they announced their first pregnancy, and again when they shared their daughter’s name.

The film industry quickly filled the comments. According to The Indian Express, Kareena Kapoor Khan wrote, “Mommy and Daddy again yayyy,” while Karan Johar, whom India Today describes as Malhotra’s mentor, posted a string of hearts and the words “Love love you.” Athiya Shetty, Rhea Kapoor, Manish Malhotra and Bhumi Pednekar also sent their congratulations, the Express reported. NDTV also noted reactions from Johar and Shetty.

The news comes not long after Malhotra spoke publicly about fatherhood. The Indian Express reports that during a recent appearance on “Bigg Boss 20,” he called being a dad “the best role possible” and spoke fondly about Saraayah, who was around 15 months old at the time. Host Salman Khan joked, “Hopefully you will have another one soon,” and Malhotra turned the question back on Khan, asking about his views on marriage and children. Khan said his thoughts on the subject were “very good” but did not elaborate, according to the Express.

The couple’s love story began on a film set. NDTV reports that they started seeing each other while making “Shershaah,” which was released on Amazon Prime Video in 2021, and kept the relationship quiet throughout the shoot. On “Koffee With Karan” Season 8, Advani said Malhotra proposed to her in Rome by reciting lines from the film. The two married on Feb. 7, 2023, at Suryagarh Palace in Rajasthan, NDTV says; The Indian Express describes it as an intimate ceremony in Rajasthan.

Saraayah Malhotra was born on July 15, 2025, according to both outlets. NDTV adds that Advani had been due in August, that the baby arrived early, and that Advani showed her baby bump at the Met Gala last year in a Gaurav Gupta design. Reports are not unanimous on the birth date: a Hindustan Times story about the new announcement places Saraayah’s birth in November, which conflicts with the July 15 date given by The Indian Express and NDTV; this story follows the July 15 date.
