The Los Angeles Dodgers are headed back to the National League Championship Series. Andy Pages lined a two-run, bases-loaded single in the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie, and the Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 4-1 on Wednesday night at Truist Park to close out their NL Division Series three games to one, according to The Associated Press and MLB.com.

The win sets up an NLCS rematch with the Milwaukee Brewers, who eliminated the San Diego Padres 3-1 in their own Game 4 on Wednesday. Game 1 is scheduled for Sunday at American Family Field in Milwaukee, MLB.com reported. Los Angeles swept Milwaukee in the NLCS last year on its way to a second straight World Series title, and the AP noted the Dodgers are now trying to become the first National League team to win three in a row. It is the club’s third consecutive NLCS appearance.

The deciding rally began with one out in the seventh, when Teoscar Hernández singled off Braves starter Tyler Mahle to end his night. Reliever Didier Fuentes got the second out but walked pinch-hitter Josue De Paula and Kyle Tucker to load the bases, the AP reported. Atlanta turned to Robert Suarez, and Pages worked a full count before lining a fastball up the middle to score Hernández and pinch-runner Tommy Edman. Max Muncy later added a solo home run off Raisel Iglesias in the ninth, his 19th postseason homer for the Dodgers, extending his franchise record. “You tip your cap to Pages, man,” Braves manager Walt Weiss said, according to MLB.com.

The hit was a turnaround moment for Pages. A year ago he went 4-for-51 in the postseason and lost his starting job in the outfield as the Dodgers beat Toronto in the World Series, the AP reported. He also missed most of the final month of the regular season with a fractured left hand; ESPN reported the injury came from an Aug. 21 hit-by-pitch and that he returned Sept. 22. “I’ve been preparing myself all series for a moment like that, give myself an opportunity, get a good pitch to hit,” Pages said, per the AP.

Los Angeles pitching did the rest. Tyler Glasnow, making his first start since Sept. 24, allowed only one hit but walked five batters in 4 2/3 innings. Alex Vesia ended the fifth, Edgardo Henriquez threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings for the win, Tanner Scott pitched a perfect eighth and Edwin Díaz recorded three quick outs for his second save of the series, according to the AP. Atlanta drew 18 walks in the series without any of them scoring and went 1-for-23 with runners in scoring position. “They’re going for their third straight world championship for a reason,” Weiss said. “Their arms just keep coming at you.”

The Braves scored first when Michael Harris II singled on Glasnow’s first pitch, stole second and came home on a wild pitch. The Dodgers answered in the second with help from two Atlanta errors: Shohei Ohtani walked, stole second, reached third on catcher Sean Murphy’s throw into center field and scored when shortstop Mauricio Dubón dropped Muncy’s pop fly in shallow left, the AP reported.

The clincher extended a strong run away from home. MLB.com reported the Dodgers have won their past five road postseason games dating to Game 2 of the 2025 World Series, tying a franchise record. Hernández crashed into the left-field wall chasing Ozzie Albies’ double in the sixth but stayed in the game, per the AP. For more postseason coverage, visit our Sports page.
