Cindy Holland Exits Paramount as Casey Bloys Eyed for Streaming

Cindy Holland is leaving Paramount Skydance as chair of direct-to-consumer, clearing the path for HBO’s Casey Bloys to be the presumed streaming chief after Paramount’s pending Warner Bros. Discovery deal, Variety and Deadline reported Tuesday.

Hollands last day was Sept. 29. In a staff memo, she wrote that CEO David Ellison is optimizing for HBO stability” in the next chapter and that she fully supports the planlanguage both outlets read as a nod to Bloys leading the combined Paramount+ and HBO Max streaming operation. Ellisons company is days from closing a roughly $110 billion acquisition of WBD, Variety noted.

Holland joined Ellisons orbit as a Skydance streaming adviser in January 2025 and became Paramounts DTC chair in August 2025, overseeing Paramount+ and Pluto TV. A Netflix originals pioneer earlier in her career, she said Paramount+ hit an all-time subscriber high with record retention, greenlit more than 40 series, and set platform marks with Landman and Dutton Ranch, per the memo quoted by Deadline.

Ellison praised Holland as one of the most exceptional executives in our industry, citing sports rights gains and Plutos product overhaul. Deadline also flagged open questions for Holland’s Paramount+ originals circle, including Jane Wiseman, while noting Bloys has signaled a preference to keep senior HBO leadership intact after the merger.

On Studio, the executive choice answers the largest post-deal streaming question before the companies formally combine platforms.
