In a televised address to the nation, PM Netanyahu asserts, "Israel is currently engaged in a struggle for its very survival. The war holds two key objectives: the elimination of Hamas by dismantling their military and governance structures, and doing everything possible to secure the release of our hostages."
According to The Times of Israel, PM Netanyahu adds, "Every member of Hamas is in jeopardy -- on the ground and below, both inside and outside Gaza. Collaborating with Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, Minister Benny Gantz, the security cabinet, the chief of staff, and leaders of the security organizations, we are working tirelessly to accomplish the war's objectives until we emerge victorious, all without political considerations."
The goal is clear: "saving the nation, achieving victory." PM Netanyahu affirms that thousands of terrorists have been neutralized, emphasizing that this is only the beginning.
Netanyahu underscores the unanimous decision regarding the timing of the ground operation. "The operation's timing was collectively decided by the war cabinet and the chief of staff," he states.
He asserts, "We will exact the full toll from those murderers, those perpetrators of atrocities... from Hamas-Daesh," in the upcoming ground offensive, as reported by The Times of Israel.
Once again, he urges noncombatant Gazans to seek refuge in southern Gaza.
He acknowledges the profound pain of losing 1,400 lives in the Hamas onslaught, paying tribute to "our brothers and sisters who were senselessly lost and who valiantly fought" against the aggressors.
He pledges to institute days of mourning in honor of those who perished in the assault.
Furthermore, he vows to rebuild the devastated southern kibbutzim and communities.
PM Netanyahu emphasizes that government ministries are formulating comprehensive plans to support the displaced within Israel, similar to measures taken during the COVID-19 crisis.
