Billie Eilish and Finneas Launch John Hardy Jewelry Collection
Billie Eilish and Finneas released a co-designed John Hardy jewelry line in reclaimed silver and lab-grown diamonds, priced from $195 to $2,400.
Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas on Wednesday, Oct. 21, released a jewelry collection they co-designed with the sustainability-focused label John Hardy, according to Vogue. The line, called the Billie Eilish & FINNEAS Collection, includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings priced from $195 to $2,400, People and Vogue reported.
From ambassadors to designers
The siblings first worked with John Hardy last year as the faces of, and creative collaborators on, the brand's JH Lovestruck lab-grown diamond line, Vogue reported. Glossy reported that the pair became the jewelry brand's first celebrity ambassadors around a year ago. "There was a thought that, down the road, we'd do a collection, but there was no pressure for it," Eilish told Vogue.
The two developed the designs with John Hardy creative chairman Reed Krakoff, formerly of Tiffany & Co., according to Glossy. People reported that the siblings worked with the brand's New York and Bali-based design teams. John Hardy's collection page says the aesthetic, scale and proportion of the pieces were developed over the course of two years.
"Billie and FINNEAS brought their very distinct point of view to the design process," Krakoff said in a press release quoted by People. "From the beginning, they challenged us to think differently about the tension between softness and strength, symmetry and balance. The result feels personal to Billie and FINNEAS and unmistakably John Hardy."
Wildflower and Screwball
The collection is split into two lines. Wildflower, named after Eilish's 2024 song of the same name, features flower motifs on pendant necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings made in sterling silver and lab-grown diamonds, People reported. Vogue said the flowers are carved from reclaimed sterling silver, with some pieces set with lab-grown diamonds. Screwball consists of necklaces, bracelets and a ring designed to be layered with the Wildflower pieces, according to People. John Hardy's collection page says Screwball takes its inspiration from body piercings, while Vogue described it as built around sculptural chain links and spherical hardware.
"The Wildflower-inspired collection is what we would wear day to day," Eilish told Vogue. Finneas told the magazine: "I love the idea of somebody wanting the ring because they think it's a beautiful ring—it's not merchandise, per se. We wanted to make objects that are just appealing on their own."
Eilish told Vogue that she tested pieces on stage while touring during the first several months of work on the collection. "I wanted something that felt like it had a presence, but wasn't hurting my neck while I was jumping around, or getting stuck on stuff," she said. In a press release quoted by People, she said, "In my current day-to-day, I wear daintier jewelry. On tour, I love a chunkier, thicker piece. I love that we were able to work with both styles."
Reclaimed metal and lab-grown diamonds
According to John Hardy, every piece in the collection is handcrafted in more than 99% reclaimed sterling silver and set with lab-grown diamonds. "Sustainability is such an important part of our lives, and [John Hardy's] beliefs really aligned with what we prioritize and focus on," Eilish told Vogue. Finneas told the magazine, "We've been taught to accept that some necessary evils are going on in manufacturing, and I don't agree with that."
John Hardy president Matt Tepper told Glossy that keeping prices accessible was one of the factors discussed during the design process. Glossy reported that while the brand typically sells in a similar price range, some John Hardy pieces sell for $50,000 or even $80,000. "We don't really do a lot of collabs," Tepper said. "We've done a few here and there, but this is by far our biggest."
Where it is sold
Glossy reported that the collection will be sold mainly through John Hardy's online store and its seven owned stores, two of which are in the U.S., with Nordstrom as the exclusive wholesale retailer. The campaign, developed by creative director Trey Laird, was shot on Super 8 film and features both siblings, according to Glossy and the brand.
Asked by Vogue whether more design projects are planned, Eilish said, "We're definitely working on more things with John Hardy, potentially." She told Vogue the pair are also "in serious album mode right now."
