Tubi and TikTok Name 12 Creators to Develop 10 Original Series in Creatorverse Incubator
Tubi and TikTok on Tuesday named 12 TikTok creators who will develop 10 original long-form series exclusive to the Fox-owned free streamer, spanning horror, animation, reality and young adult programming. A Tubi spokesperson said the series will roll out over several months starting in December.
Tubi and TikTok on Tuesday, Oct. 27, named the 12 TikTok creators selected for their Creatorverse Incubator, a program that will produce 10 original long-form series exclusive to the Fox-owned free streaming service, according to a Tubi announcement. The companies said the slate spans animation, horror, reality and young adult programming, in both scripted and unscripted formats.
Tubi described the cohort as its biggest investment yet in original programming built with creators. The incubator was first announced in March, and Variety, which reported the selections as an exclusive, said the series will be based on the creators' TikTok content.
The creators and their shows
According to Tubi's announcement, the slate includes two horror series. In "Would You Survive?" Christopher Kiely breaks down movies, monsters and locations to decide whether an average person could make it out alive, and in "Scare Tours" film expert Allie Tran visits the locations of well-known scary movies.
Three animated projects are planned. Lynnell Jones Jr. created "Feeling Super," a comedy about a broke young man who gets a new superpower every day; Kendria Bland created "The Roach Chronicles," about a family of cockroaches; and Sebastian Krahl created "Jamie Crow," an adult animated series about an 18-year-old high school senior obsessed with serial killers.
The unscripted titles include "Kai Picks the Guy," a dating show hosted by Kai Cameron in which three men who believe they are there to date a female contestant are instead vetted by Cameron on one-on-one "dates," and "A Great Australian Gay Sidequest," which follows Marc Sebastian as he explores tourist experiences in Australia. In "Asking for a Friend," Sabrina Brier and celebrity guests discuss the everyday problems of modern friendship.
Two scripted comedies round out the slate. "The Leasing Manager" stars Madison Humphrey as an apartment complex leasing manager trying to reach 100% occupancy, and "Never Have I Spent the Winter With the Romano Brothers" stars Yasmine Sahid as a city teenager who moves to small-town Alaska after losing her parents and becomes involved with two brothers, played by Alex Maystrik and Pablo Hernandez.
Tubi said the creators are recognized across entertainment, "from award shows and film festival red carpets to TikTok's Discover List and Showbiz List."
What the companies said
"The creators we're working with have built a following, a point of view, and a body of work that people come back for," Kudzi Chikumbu, Tubi's vice president of creator partnerships, said in the announcement. "We're proud to support them as they create their first TV shows, making ambitious work they may not otherwise be able to make and growing beyond the audiences and formats that had previously defined them." Tubefilter noted that Chikumbu is a former TikTok executive.
Dawn Yang, TikTok's global head of entertainment and micro-series, said, "TikTok is where creators build passionate communities around their work and connect their stories with audiences around the world." She added that the partnership "gives them another way to share their work with new audiences."
According to Net Influencer and Tubefilter, TikTok plans to use its TikTok Spotlight feature to promote the series and drive fan conversation around them.
Episodes, timing and budgets
Details on release timing differ among outlets. A Tubi spokesperson told StreamTV Insider that each project is the creator's first TV show, that Tubi expects about four to six episodes per series with counts and lengths varying by creator, and that the series will roll out over several months starting in December. The Desk reported that the companies did not disclose production budgets or premiere dates, and Tubefilter reported that release dates had not been revealed.
StreamTV Insider reported that Tubi is providing resources while leaving creators creative freedom over production.
Tubi's wider creator push
The incubator builds on Tubi for Creators, which launched in June 2025. Tubi said it has since added more than 35,000 episodes from over 700 creators to its service. Net Influencer reported that in March, when the incubator was first announced, Tubi had cited more than 16,000 episodes from over 200 creators. Tubi has also brought creator content from its Creatorverse platform to Fire TV and launched a Creatorverse Hub for browsing creator films and series, according to the company.
Tubi says it has 110 million monthly active users. The Desk reported that the company also offers a library of more than 375,000 movies and television episodes, including nearly 400 Tubi Originals, and noted that Tubi does not define the term "active user."
StreamTV Insider reported that the program follows earlier creator-led deals at Tubi, including an original film deal with Kevin Hart's Hartbeat, and that other free streamers, including the Roku Channel and Walmart-owned Vizio's WatchFree+, have also expanded creator programming.
