Spotify Connects to Meta’s Muse AI Agent for Podcasts and Playlists

Spotify has detailed how it works inside Muse, Metas new personal AI agent, letting connected listeners play music, resume podcasts, build playlists, find books or shows, and even generate a Personal Podcast from notes and briefings through conversational prompts, Music Business Worldwide and Music Ally reported.

Spotify published the integration walkthrough on Wednesday, the same day Meta spotlighted Muse at its Connect keynote in Menlo Park. The streaming service was already listed among Muse connectors when the agent launched Sept. 8 alongside Gmail, Google Calendar, OpenTable, and others. Users enable the link under Muse Settings Connectors or by asking the agent to connect an account, Meta said.

In practice, Muse can start a destination-inspired driving playlist and schedule it for a road trip, resume a podcast mid-episode, or push a saved playlist to a kitchen speaker—moves that extend Spotifys meet users where they are strategy beyond the native app. The Personal Podcast feature turns daily briefings, notes, and ideas into audio saved to a listener’s Spotify Library, blurring the line between algorithmically recommended shows and user-authored audio briefs.

Music Ally noted that Spotify is the first music streaming service to connect to Muse, following Ticketmaster as an earlier music-adjacent connector. Muses mobile app logged about 2.8 million downloads in the United States and Canada in the first 12 days after launch, giving Spotify a high-intent early audience in the agents initial markets. The Muse experience is limited to users 18 and older for now, per Associated Press reporting cited by Music Business Worldwide.

The Muse tie-up continues Spotifys multi-assistant distribution push. The company brought recommendations into ChatGPT in October 2025 (later expanding into the UK, Switzerland, and the EU), added Anthropic’s Claude in April 2026, and opened a July beta that lets Premium subscribers talk to Spotify itself to choose whats playing. Those layers sit beside longer-running AI products such as AI DJ (2023) and the Prompted Playlist beta that began in December 2025.

Meta describes Muse as an agent that “doesnt just answer questions, it actually does the work, running on a Muse Secure VM powered by a model called Muse Spark. The company says users choose which apps connect and how much access each gets, with confirmation prompts before sensitive actions like sending email or making a purchase. Credentials go into secure storage; Meta says the agent has no visibility into passwords or payment methods.

For podcast creators and publishers, the strategic signal is distribution: conversational agents become another discovery and resume surface alongside Spotify Home, Search, and Wrapped-style annual moments. Being findableand resumable—through Muse may matter as much as traditional chart placement if listeners increasingly ask an agent to continue that true-crime show from yesterday rather than opening the Spotify app first.

Spotify closed Q2 2026 with 300 million Premium subscribers and 777 million monthly active users. With Muse initially live in the U.S. and Canada—and a Mac client already shipping—the podcast and music integrations give Metas agent a ready audio stack while giving Spotify another front door into daily listening habits.
