SiriusXM has locked in one of podcasting’s most bankable friendship brands. The company announced a new four-year agreement with Giggly Squad, the comedy podcast hosted by Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo, giving SiriusXM exclusive distribution through its Podcast Network and exclusive global ad-sales rights across the shows audio and video editions. SiriusXM said the deal began Sept. 16, 2026, and will expand the Giggly Squad universe with a slate of new exclusive programming expected in 2027, with further details still to come.

The shows arc explains why networks fought for it. What started as Instagram Live chats in 2020 grew into a twice-weekly top comedy destination, a sold-out live tour across roughly 70 cities including two Radio City Music Hall dates, and a New York Times bestselling book, How to Giggle. Berner and DeSorbo built careers that stretch beyond the feedstandup specials, fashion projects, red-carpet hosting, and a scripted comedy in development with Netflix and Amy Poehlers Paper Kite Productions—while keeping the podcast as the weekly clubhouse for a fan base that calls itself the Gigglers.

Industry reporting underscored how competitive the chase became. The Hollywood Reporter covered the multiyear move to SiriusXM as an exclusive, situating the pact inside a broader bidding environment for female-led comedy podcasts that travel well as both audio and video. The Hollywood Reporter said sources familiar with the matter pegged the deal at $160 million, although SiriusXM did not disclose economics in its release. For creators, the takeaway is less the rumored ceiling than the structure: exclusive distribution plus global ads plus a promised original slate.

Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM's president and chief content officer, cast Berner and DeSorbo's chemistry and community as the reason to put network muscle behind the brand. The hosts, in a joint statement, said they were excited for the next chapter and to keep growing with listeners who made the expansion feel personal. New episodes remain widely available Tuesdays and Fridays on the SiriusXM app, YouTube, and major podcast platforms, with an ad-free path through SiriusXM Podcasts+.

The agreement also fits SiriusXM's wider podcast strategy. The company says it represents more of the top 20 Edison podcasts than any other network and reaches about one in two U.S. podcast listeners each month, leveraging partnerships that include YouTube and Tubi. Placing Giggly Squad beside titles such as SmartLess, The Mel Robbins Podcast, and Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend signals where SiriusXM wants comedy and personality shows to live as video consumption rises and ad buyers chase cross-format inventory.

For the hosts, the practical upside is infrastructure. Exclusive ad sales can simplify sponsorship packaging across audio and video, while a 2027 original programming promise creates room for spinoffs, specials, or live extensions without forcing the flagship show to carry every growth idea. For SiriusXM, the risk is concentration: paying up for a friendship-driven comedy brand only works if Gigglers follow the distribution home and if video monetization keeps pace with consumption. Early indicators - chart consistency, tour demand, and book sales - suggest the audience is portable.

September's announcement therefore reads as both a creator career milestone and a network inventory play. Berner and DeSorbo keep the twice-weekly hang that made them famous; SiriusXM gets exclusive pipes and sales rights into a community that already buys tickets and books. If the 2027 slate lands with the same casual intimacy that built the podcast, Giggly Squad could become less a single show than a small comedy franchise with a clear audio-video home.

Measurement and format shifts also sit behind the deal. As podcast listening continues to migrate toward video without abandoning audio-first habits, networks that can sell both from one rights package hold an advantage with brand buyers who refuse to run separate creative workflows. Giggly Squad already behaves like a dual-format product - candid talk that works in earbuds and visual banter that works on YouTube - so exclusive global ad sales are less a theoretical upsell than a way to stop revenue leaking across platforms. If SiriusXM can keep the Tuesday-Friday cadence intact while layering 2027 originals, the company will have converted a bidding-war win into a durable comedy franchise rather than a one-show rental.
