Ramayana Drops Jai Jai Ram Telugu Version With Deepali Sahay

Makers of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana have released the Telugu version of first song Jai Jai Ram, with vocals by Deepali Sahay and Raghav Kaushik on an A.R. Rahman composition, TeluguOne and Telugu Times reported.

Telugu lyrics are by Rakendu Mouli. Both outlets describe the track as a devotional invocation that keeps the prayer-like core of the Hindi original while expanding into a larger cinematic sound. Producer Namit Malhotra and Rahman have stressed preserving the song’s emotional and spiritual center even as the film is mounted at blockbuster scale.

Rahman said the musical intention was to preserve the purity and intimacy of a prayer while letting the composition grow into a cinematic song, with Sahay and Kaushik bringing distinct emotional expression to Mouli’s words. Mouli called the title three simple words that form a complete prayer, saying the language stayed direct because devotion needs no ornamentation.

The Telugu drop follows the Hindi Jai Jai Ram rollout featuring Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal and arrives after Ramayana’s trailer reportedly crossed one billion digital views in six days. Directed by Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Shri Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.

Production credits cited by Telugu Times include Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, with Sony Pictures handling global distribution outside India.
