Dodgers Name Skubal for NLDS Game 1 vs Braves
Dodgers name Tarik Skubal for NLDS Game 1 vs. Braves; Atlanta plans a bullpen opener as Sale’s Game 2 status stays fluid, per ESPN and MLB.com.
Shohei Ohtani is not expected to pitch this postseason after left-knee and right-biceps issues down the stretch, MLB.com notes, but he told reporters Friday his swing “feels really good overall” and that he will be ready for Game 1 as a hitter. The Braves’ Wild Card power came from Michael Harris II, Ozzie Albies, and Austin Riley, while Ronald Acuña Jr. went 1-for-9 in that series.
For readers following October baseball on Sports, verified as of Oct. 2–3 reports: Skubal starts NLDS Game 1 Saturday; Braves open with a bullpen opener; Sale’s Game 2 status is undecided; Ohtani is expected to hit but not pitch; dual coverage from ESPN and MLB.com supports the rotation timeline without inventing final Game 2 lineups beyond what those outlets attributed.
