Beyoncé Knowles-Carter’s haircare brand Cécred has launched exclusively with Space NK in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and the retailer says the debut set a new internal record for a brand launch, according to a PR Newswire release issued for Space NK. The company said thousands of customers shopped in stores and on spacenk.com on day one, that Cécred met its full week’s predicted sales by 1:00 p.m. on launch day, and that the performance surpassed previous launch-day marks for a new brand at the chain.

Sophie Wayman, Space NK’s category director for haircare, said demand was “truly unprecedented,” noting that by 8:30 a.m. on launch day the retailer already saw a “deluge of search and immediate sales.” Grace Ray, CEO of Cécred, said the UK has been the brand’s largest market outside the United States “since day one,” calling the Space NK result “a true testament to the connection we’ve built with our global community.” Standout products cited in the release include Restoring Hair & Edge Drops, described as the current bestseller, followed by the newer Temple Oud Hair Perfume. Availability covers all 90 Space NK stores plus spacenk.com from September 22.

Cosmetics Business independently reported the exclusive UK and Ireland retail expansion across those 90 doors and online, framing it as Cécred’s first international retail step after a US partnership with Ulta Beauty. Ray told the trade title that expanding into the UK — the brand’s second-largest market after the US — underscores community demand for high-performance haircare, and that Space NK shares a vision for “innovation and shifting the narrative in hair care.” Space NK CEO Emma Simpson-Scott said the exclusive launch emphasises the retailer’s push to bring “the world’s most in demand brands” to UK customers.

Cosmetics Business also noted Tina Knowles’s role as brand vice chairwoman and former stylist, quoting her on the need for products tested across hair types and textures worldwide. Inclusivity and accessibility, she said, sit at the heart of bringing Cécred’s rituals to Space NK shoppers. Alongside Foundation, Protection, Restoring, and Styling collections, Temple Oud Hair Perfume is part of the UK assortment — aligning with the SKU emphasis in Space NK’s own release.

Philanthropy travels with the commercial launch. Cosmetics Business reported that Cécred will continue UK partnership work with BeyGOOD, Beyoncé’s foundation, supporting Birmingham’s Athena Aesthetics & Beauty Academy under the Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund — covering student fees, tools, learning resources, and enrichment. That community track sits beside a retail story that is otherwise about speed: a week’s forecast cleared before lunch, per Space NK’s figures in the PR Newswire copy.

Readers should treat the “record” claim as Space NK’s internal benchmarking rather than a third-party audited market share number; neither Cosmetics Business nor the brand release publishes a pound-sterling total. What both sources agree on is structural: exclusive doors, a 90-store footprint, e-commerce parity, and executive confirmation that the UK already mattered disproportionately to Cécred’s non-US business before this debut.

For beauty retail watchers, the takeaway is less surprise than scale. A celebrity-founded haircare line with Ulta traction in the US has now stress-tested Space NK’s launch machinery and, by the retailer’s account, reset it. Whether the early rush sustains through the first full week and autumn gift season will be the next data point; the opening day, at least, has already entered Space NK’s own record book.
