Nepal's Ambassador confirms the distressing situation as Hamas launches rocket barrage.

Seven Nepalese citizens have been injured, and seventeen others are reportedly held captive by the Palestinian group Hamas in Israel. This incident coincides with a dangerous escalation of violence, as Hamas launched a barrage of rockets from Gaza on October 7, resulting in casualties in Israel.

This worrisome situation was confirmed by Nepal's Ambassador to Israel.

At the same time, the region is facing a grave increase in violence. On October 7, a barrage of rockets was launched from the blockaded Gaza Strip, leading to the tragic loss of at least one life in Israel. In response, the Israeli army issued urgent warnings, activating sirens across the southern and central areas, urging the public to seek safety in bomb shelters.

The armed wing of the Palestinian group Hamas quickly claimed responsibility for the rocket onslaught, stating that their militants had fired over 5,000 rockets as part of what they called "Operation Al-Aqsa Flood."

"We have decided to stop all the aggression of the occupation (Israel). Their time of causing chaos without consequences is over," declared the group. "We announce Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, and in the first 20 minutes, we launched more than 5,000 rockets."

In a worrying development, a senior adviser to Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, expressed support for the surprise attack launched by Hamas against Israel on October 7, hailing it as a "courageous operation."

"We stand in solidarity with the brave operation of Al-Aqsa Flood," Rahim Safavi stated during a Tehran meeting held in support of Palestinian children. "We endorse this operation, and we are confident that the resistance front also backs this cause."

Reacting to the escalating violence in the region, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep concern and offered solidarity with Israel during these challenging times.

"Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel," Prime Minister Modi tweeted. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour."
