World War Z and Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster is adapting Jamie Scallion’s revenge thriller “Nines” for TV. Deadline reported the exclusive Oct. 8; Fremantle confirmed Oct. 9 it will distribute the series globally.

Forster and Renée Wolfe’s 2DUX² teamed with BAFTA-winning Me+You Productions to win screen rights after a competitive auction. Fremantle is selling the show worldwide; Transworld holds world English rights to the novel and its sequel.

The title character is a pianist serving life in Britain’s most secure jail who wants revenge for his wife’s murder and the son taken from him. Forster will direct the opening block and stay closely involved; no network or episode order is set yet.
