Kathleen Kennedy, the former head of Lucasfilm, has been named head of ceremonies and content for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety reported.

Kennedy will lead all four ceremonies, from the Olympic opening on July 14, 2028, through the Paralympic closing on Aug. 27, Variety reported.

She replaces Peter Rice, who will remain an LA28 executive producer, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Deadline said Rice started as Netflix's content chief two days before LA28's Oct. 28 announcement.
