After seven weeks of fighting that caused harm to people and buildings, Israel and Hamas have decided to stop fighting for four days, starting Friday. Qatar's foreign ministry spokesperson shared this information.

Details of the Agreement:

The agreement includes a full stop to fighting in the north and south parts of the Gaza Strip. The first pause in the fighting, which started because of attacks by Hamas on Israel on October 7, will also involve the release of 50 women and children held by Hamas, and about 150 Palestinians in Israeli jails will be set free as part of the deal.

On Friday, the first group of hostages, 13 women and children, will be released. During these four days, there will be discussions to see if more hostages can be released and if the pause can continue.

Israel's Conditions and Continuing the War:

Israel says the pause might last more than four days if Hamas releases at least 10 hostages every day. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear that the stop in fighting is temporary. Israel is not ending its war on Gaza.

Terms of the Pause:

The agreement means a complete stop to attacks from the air and ground, with the hope that there won't be any violations. Hamas' armed wing, al-Qassam Brigades, said there would be no military actions, and Israeli forces will stop flying over specific areas during the four-day pause.

How It Will Happen:

Qatar, along with the International Committee of the Red Cross, will help in releasing the hostages, and they will be moved through Egypt. Aid and fuel trucks will go into Gaza during these four days to help the 2.3 million people who are running out of food and facing problems in hospitals because they don't have enough fuel for generators.

Hostages Being Released:

The first list of hostages to be released includes three US citizens. The truce agreement was negotiated by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, and it aims to provide help to the 2.4 million people living in Gaza.

This agreement comes after seven weeks of tough times with many people getting hurt and buildings being damaged in the Gaza Strip.
